Some facts about the hyperloop: The technology is not present, not even in small scales. And the recent technical concepts lack of severe contradictions, i.e. the low pressure inside the tube to lower resistance, and the use of passive magnetic levitation, which adds quite a lot of resistance, especially at high speeds. The capacity of the system is low compared to hispeed trains. It is only a point to point connection. Vehicle dynamics at these speeds are almost not addressed, all they show works only on almost straight lines without horizontal or vertical curbs, this you only could do under earth, like the Swissmetro proposal. The construction and maintenance costs are massively underestimated, especially to warrant a safe ride and to reach the stated capacity. It is absolutely not obvious, that the tube on pylons is less costly to build than a train bed on the surface. The severe safety issues of quasi space atmosphere in the tube need a lot of development and testing, until they can be approved to be as safe as trains or aircraft. Just to achieve the safety alone the costs will be astronomical. When Gresta talks about more electrical energy produced than needed, it means that the system will be the most expensive electric power plant on the earth. Both larger groups at this, HTT and Hyperloop One, are neither able to tell the truth, nor really interested in doing so, because the first rides on a crowdsharing structure, where many pay with work and money, and the managers like Ahlborn and Gresta are happy with their big wages, and the latter burns theiir venture capital to the benefit of the management too, and has internal problems, which emerge of the impossibility to realize that pipe dream at any reasonable costs, not only due to personal issues, expressed by their lawsuits. Even Space-X had to delay their test track for the pod competition by half a year, because they realized that the thing is much more difficult to build than anticipated. In the light of all of above, one can state: That hyperloop is ineffective, way to costly, and technologically in its childhood. Better choose a hispeed train of German, Japanese or French origin, unless China already can offer some.
